HandBrake is an open-source, GPL-licensed, multiplatform, multithreaded DVD to MPEG-4 converter, usable for MacOS X, Linux and Windows.

Supported sources: HandBrake is not qualified to DVDs: it gift now support practically any write of recording as a shaper.


  • File initialize: MP4, MKV, AVI or OGM
  • Video: MPEG-4 or H.264 (1 or 2 passes or incessant quantizer/rate encryption)
  • Audio: AAC, MP3, Vorbis or AC-3 pass-through (supports coding of various frequency tracks)
